American Art

American Art department specializes in paintings, drawings and sculpture by artists working in American from the 18th century through the 1950s.  The auctions include works of Modernism, American Impressionism, Hudson River School, Ashcan, Regionalism, early portraiture and many other movements and genres. European Art

The European Art department specializes in European paintings, drawings, and sculpture by important artists from the Renaissance through wars. The auctions have featured works by Gustave Courbet, Pierre Auguste Renoir, Claude Lorraine and Le Pho, just to name a few. Nye sold a previously lost Rembrandt van Rijn for over a million dollars. The department’s research team, network of experts, and sales associates can reach a large number of collectors around the globe. Western, Wildlife Art and Sporting Art

The Western, Wildlife Art and Sporting Art department specializes in handling Historic and Contemporary Western Art including works by Western pioneering artists, Taos Society Founders, living and deceased Cowboy Artist of America, New Mexico modernists, and established Southwestern artists. Other regional landscape and figural works by artists from the Western states and Colorado are among our featured consignments. We also are willing to handle Western themed decorative objects and furniture, such as Thomas Molesworth. The department also focuses on African and North American Wildlife painting, bronzes and decoys. Photographs

The Photographs department sells high-quality photographs, from early to contemporary works of art. We look to handle works by artists such as Ansel Adams, Diane Arbus, Eugene Atget, Harry Bowers, Matthew Brady, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Edward S. Curtis, William Eggleston, Walker Evans, Robert Frank, Ernst Haas, Dorothea Lange, Robert Mapplethorpe, Jim Marshall, Richard Misrach, Helmut Newton, Ruth Orkin, Cindy Sherman, Bert Stern and Edward Weston.
