Queen Anne Mahogany Tilt Top Diminutive Tea Table
Attributed to Thomas Burling (w. 1769-1802), New York, c. 1785.
An outline of a label of Thomas Burling remains on the underside of the table top above the block.

Provenance:
A label on the underside of the top inscribed "Table came from Basset ancestors. Jane Cornelia Basset walked around it when learning to walk. Jane Cornelia Basset married G. William Ironside - Peter Fair Mesulier"

In the marriage records of New York, William Ironside, a lawyer, son of George Ironside, married Jane Cornelia Bissett, daughter of John Bissett, in 1825 in New York City. They had one child, Fredericka S. and she married Hervey Mulford and had two children: William Remsen Mulford and Dexter Walker Ironside Mulford. Dexter married Annie F. Beetson (Perhaps Jane walked around the table about 1802.);
