Important World War II American Artifact
Made from a shell, cigarette dispenser with four pull out compartments for cigarettes and matching brass top, belonging to the American Commandant of Landsberg War Criminal Prison No. 1, Landsberg, 1947, Germany, as inscribed on the bottom. Where a number of high profile Nazi war criminals were sent to be executed after the Nuremberg trials. The consignors father Jack Derryberry was stationed there at the time and was good friends with the commandant, who presented him with this cigarette dispenser one night over dinner at Landsberg.
