Of monumental size,retailed by Theodore Starr, dated 1898, mounted on mahogany silver mounted matching base, with three descriptive panels, presented to Major General Charles France Roe from Squadron A, completely decorated with repousse cast and engraved coat of arms, independent roundels for the seal of the United States, the seal of the state of New York, and the cavalry seal of the National Guard New York for Squadron A. Together with fitted box inscribed "Presented in 1898 to Charles Frances Roe from his Troop." Apx. 170 T.O., without base. Trophy: 14-3/4"h, overall: 20-1/2"h, box: 14"h x 24"w x 14"d Provenance: Property of Major General Charles Francis Roe (1848-1922). Descended through the family to the great-grandson.
