Johannes Rickert was the son of Marcus Rickert (1711-1778), born in Schoharie, Schoharie County and Elizabeth Lawyer (1718-before 1805), born in Schoharie, Schoharie County.

Marcus Rickert was the son of Johan Konrad Rickert (~1680-?) born in Hailer, Hesse, Germany and Sara Catharina Schieffer (~1683-1759)born in Nieder-Grandau, Germany and buried in Schoharie, NY.

Barrent & Catherine were married in Schoharie, Albany County, on April 4, 1786 only 1½ months before the first son John was born, not April 4, 1785 as the birth record states.
