English, late 18th C. Bears note inside "This chest was brought from Holland about in 1732 by the Great Great Grandparents of Mrs. James H. Abbott of Bricksboro, NJ. It was also on exhibit at the sesquicentennial of Port Elizabeth, November 29, 1935. It was presented to me by my grandmother Mary Elizabeth Davidson." Together with a diminutive Pennsylvania Dutch carved walnut chest. 11"h x 20"w x 13-1/2"d and 13-1/2"h x 18-1/4"w x 10-1/2"d. Provenance: Property of a New Jersey Collector.
