Charlie Potters is a Research Consultant with Nye & Company. He has spent over 55 years wandering the globe’s nooks and crannies, looking for the most interesting, unusual and often overlooked treasures in the world of fine and decorative arts. With Nye & Company, his role is to help clients triage their collections – large or small – and then research the more esoteric items which often defy easy valuation. His deep understanding of history and design help bring context and clarity to pieces that are often overlooked.
He has worked with objects as diverse as: Items recovered from the Battle of Little Big Horn, the table used for the planning of D-Day, Colonial Masonic and Fraternal items, large single-owner collections of mechanical curiosities, scientific equipment, militaria, Horological treasures, including rare and unusual watches, Colonial and Federal period American silver, Americana and American Folk Art, Chinese porcelain and jade and Tribal arts and artifacts.
Charlie had used his lifelong research and teaching skills not only to enhance his personal collections, but also in a 30+ year career using those same skills in the Capital Markets. With that behind him, he brings all of his expertise to bear on behalf of our clients.
